As a career Interdiction agent with the Division of Plants and Potions, Gentle Breeze has ventured outside the Pactlands on many a case over the last two centuries. She understands general American norms, her accent has steadily improved, and she can actually sleep around humans, a feat that only comes with experience. In short, she knows how to handle herself in the outside world.
But nothing in Gentle Breeze’s training has prepared her for waking in an alley in Richmond, Virginia, with a suspiciously nasty headache. It’s bad enough that she somehow wound up outside in nothing but her pajamas, but to her horror, her masking pendant is missing—a slight problem when one is better than eight feet tall and green.
Trolls are many things. Subtle is not one of them.

Wedding planning is about to be the least of Rose’s problems.
After a nearly four-year engagement, Rose ti’Dana is finally ready to tie the knot. She’s found her footing in the Pactlands, made friends, gained employment as the Division of Plants and Potions’ resident farseer, and is deeply in love with Yven ti’Ansha. She’d happily run off to a judge with Yven to make matters official, but her great-grandfather wishes for her to be wed in high style, and Rose doesn’t want to disappoint him.
Unfortunately, Rose doesn’t know how to plan an elven wedding. Enter her cousin Calien, an event coordinator who works with all the hot vendors…and who’s loath to waste her time and talents on quasi-human Rose and her socially inferior fiancé. It might take a miracle for Rose and Calien to make it to the big day without killing each other, but Rose is determined to try.
But with weeks to go before the wedding, rogue sorcerers attack a group of humans in the outside world, and one of Rose’s friends winds up in their crosshairs. As the Pact agents try to make sense of the crime and track the culprits, a much larger scheme begins to come into focus—one that risks the safety of the Pactlands.
